Pet Emergencies, What can I do?

Urgent Mobile Veterinary Care & 24-Hour Clinics

Time sensitive but not life threatening

These are the types of calls that can be easily seen by a Vet on a home visit, which will be much easier for you, and less stress for your pet. Examples of some of these conditions are:

  • Vomiting more than once

  • Severe Diarrhea

  • Intensely Itchy skin or ears

  • Superficial Skin wounds requiring dressings and or possibly stitches

  • Urgent Medications refills

  • Sudden limping and pain

Ingestion of Poison in Dats and Dogs: Please go straight to your nearest emergency Hospital. Overdoses and Poisons are absorbed more every minute that passes, so do not delay in getting them to the clinic. (See SASH in Alexandria)

We cannot safely induce vomiting in cats on a home visit.

For other non-emergencies that you would like seen at home on the same day, click the link and fill in the form to let us know your details, then send a Followup Text to 0483967022.

Note that if we are with patients or dealing with other emergencies, there may be a delay responding.

Urgent calls start from AUD 179- 249 depending on location.

24 Emergency Hospitals, for True Emergencies

These life saving facilities are staffed around the clock with high trained teams of vets and nurses, and some very advanced equipment.

If your Pet has any of the following then please go straight to your nearest Veterinary hospital or emergency clinic:

  • Accidental ingestion of poison, or non food items

  • Collapsed

  • Trouble Breathing

  • Non stop Bleeding

  • Choking

  • Recurrent Seizures

  • Wobbly and unsteady on feet

  • Unable to urinate

  • Broken Bones

  • Heat Stroke

  • Unconsciousness

As you’d expect theres a premium for providing these services, expect the fee for initial consultation to be around AUD 300, and short stays involving diagnostics and treatments might be in the 800-3000 range. Surgeries or more complex hospitalisations would go beyond this.
